The Carrick-on-Suir Business Association (COSBA) was formed in 2008 from the Traders’ Association and the Chamber of Commerce to promote business in the town and its hinterland.

COSBA represents all sectors of business life in the town. Our members include businesses offering goods and services across a wide spectrum from supermarkets to restaurants, hairdressers to clothing and footwear, accommodation to public houses, doctors to solicitors and accountants.

We work together to develop initiatives to attract and retain custom in Carrick-on-Suir. We lobby on behalf of our members’ interests and we promote and foster a positive image of our town. We also support festivals and events which celebrate our heritage and culture. Ultimately, we believe that Carrick-on-Suir is a positive and progressive place to do business. We also work under the umbrella of the Carrick on Suir Tourist and Economic Development Committee. (COSTEDC).

This website is developed and run by COSBA to promote the town, its members businesses & to keep you up to date on news and events. Our aim is to become a source of valuable information for our townspeople and visitors to Carrick-on-Suir.

We also want this new website to become the foremost destination point for all things Carrick on Suir.

Carrick-on-Suir Tourism and Economic Development Committee launched their ‘Carrick-on-Suir Strategic Vision 2030’ document in 2016.

COSBA played a significant role in the development of the plan. We would like to congratulate COSTEDC on the publishing of the plan and offer whatever supports necessary to achieve some of the goals set out.

The simplest way to sum up the document is to quote the mission statement.

‘Our Mission is to make Carrick-on-Suir an attractive town to visit, to live in and for work and shopping; a place where new and existing entrepreneurs are encouraged and supported: where training and employment opportunities are actively generated.’

Noble words from a plan that points the direction that Carrick-on-Suir can travel with the support of the community. This plan is a very positive step forward for our community and points towards a positive future for Carrick-on-Suir. Its success will depend on the participation of the whole community’s involvement.
