In our efforts to meet the needs of all the shoppers in our community, we stock a vast range of housewares, hardware and DIY products. Our business has long been known as a builders’ providers to the local trade and continues to do so stocking all the items you require to carry out that extension or build your new home. In recent years however, we have expanded our product range to include doors and floors, bathrooms, electrical goods, cleaning products and detergents, and a range of other household products.
Our history
Topline Clearys was originally called Robert Cleary & Sons and operated from a premises on the quays for a number of years. The business was then sold to the Kerr family from Ardee, Co. Louth who ran it successfully for a number of years. It was during their stewardship that the business moved premises from its original location to its current location on the Clonmel Road, Carrick on Suir, Co. Tipperary. A major revamp project upgraded the premises in the mid 2000’s to give customers’ an improved shopping experience. The Kerr family then sold the business in 2012 to John Phelan & Co. Laois, and the business continues to go from strength to strength.
The local community
Topline Clearys is proud to have always been closely linked to the local community. We participate in and support many local fundraising initiatives, including the GAA, soccer, The Clancy Festival, The Iverk Show, theatre groups and festivals, and charities.
The Topline group
We joined the Topline group while under the stewardship of the Kerr family. This has enabled the business to benefit from the buying power of over 150 independent hardware retailers throughout the country, and allows us to compete successfully with the likes of Chadwicks, Woodies, and B&Q. The Topline group also provides a number of other services to us, such as training and development and marketing.
